Marriage has been called a lot of things. I’ve heard the good, the bad, the best, the worst, and everything down the middle. Since I have gotten engaged I have been the recipient of advice in every way, shape, and form you could possible imagine, or more than I could possibly want. Up until this point my engagement has only been witness to all the great stories I’ve heard. Then came the time we decided to actually get married and everyone forgot to throw in the story about how ridiculously hard it is to plan and organize one day. My God, I could never imagine that there is so much to juggle. If I had known, I would have started planning when I was twelve.

Thankfully there are people who somehow find pleasure in taking care of things like this for you. Fortunately we found one of these people. Jan Sokolowski has been somewhat of a miracle, especially to me. I’m actually enjoying the planning of our wedding because we’ve been working with someone who is knowledgeable about every in and out of weddings. That’s only the start of it though. Jan has helped with everything from our budget, to our thank you gifts, to suggestions for my tux, which I really did need. She has saved weeks of arguing, stressing, and mistakes by taking all of the hard work and worry right out of the equation. No matter how many times we ask to see something or explain something again, she is more than happy to go over it again with nothing more on her mind but making this day perfect for the both of us. I don’t think I’ve met anyone more organized and proficient at something they do. She has been simply amazing for both my fiancée and myself and already has our wedding shaping up to be something to remember forever as the best day in our lives.

When I think about it now, I realize that could never do something like this and I would never have been able to keep up with the planning of my own wedding. I feel like we can just relax and get ready with ease because her attention to detail is so amazing I know everything will be even better than what we both could have imagined. Honestly, I have never met with another wedding planner but I am sure I would be hard pressed to find someone who gives this much attention to use and is able to relax my fiancée the way Jan has. I immediately have started throwing her name out in conversation and am making sure people don’t only hear the stories you would normally hear. I will recommend her to everyone I know attempting to plan a wedding. It’s hard for me to put trust in someone, but we both did just that, and Jan has given us something you cannot put a price tag on, peace of mind.

Post Script: While I feel that my fiancée has given an excellent account of Jan’s services to us, I would like to add a few things. When Jan first offered her wedding planning services to us I was a little apprehensive, not because I didn’t trust Jan, but because I felt there wouldn’t be much for her to do. Well I was wrong. Like my fiancée, I had absolutely no idea all of the things that went into planning a wedding, and if it wasn’t for Jan, I would probably be getting married in 2018 instead of 2008. Right from the beginning Jan has been remarkable. When Jan and I first began to discuss the wedding, I had just completed graduate school and begun a new career, so needless to say, I had a lot on my plate and planning my wedding wasn’t exactly on the top of my list. In fact, Bill and I had been engaged for a year and a half and I still had absolutely no idea where I even wanted to get married. So Jan asked me to describe what I would consider to be the perfect day. Following this conversation, she began researching (and visiting) venues in our area and found the perfect spot. I don’t know how she did it, but she found a place that was exactly how I had envisioned it would look, and I didn’t even have to lift a finger to do anything. It was about this time that I began to realize how perfect Jan was for this job, and she has only continued to amaze me from this point forward. Once I fell in love with the location, Jan “got the ball rolling”, helping us choose the wedding date and setting up appointments for me not only at the Inne, but also with the photographer and DJ. She also compiled a list of bridal boutiques in the area, created spreadsheets to help us plan our budget and guest list, began contacting local florists, and created a ‘to-do’ list for us complete with approximate dates. In addition to these endless tasks, she has also offered to make my centerpieces, help plan my bridal shower, and coordinate everything the day of the ceremony. These are just of few of the many things Jan has done or will do for us, but I want to write a letter, not a book, so it is impossible for me to mention everything. All I know is that I would not be where I am today without Jan and I would recommend her to anyone. She has found the perfect career and I am confident that her business will be a huge success.

“When I was asked to plan a retirement party at the last minute for a high ranking manager within my company, I was overwhelmed at the thought of planning a high-end party while balancing work and family life. That is when I called Attention 2 Perfection and talked to Jan. She put me at ease by simplifying the planning process. She asked me a few questions about the type of party we wanted, our budget, and the little details we wanted to see. She did all of the research and found several plausible options for our party. When it was all said and done, Jan had planned and executed a high-end, sumptuous, fun party.
